Emission-reducing deployment of shared office networks

In this paper, we propose a generic method based on publicly available data to design master plan optimizing the number of coworking spaces deploy in given area, as well their placements across territory, with goal reducing GHC emissions linked car commuting. As first step, collect and preprocess population convert them into an exploitable form. Then decision model that describes when person would choose work shared office, which transport mode they use. We finally perform optimization maximize gains terms traveled distance using linear solver heuristic methods, compare respective effectiveness. The results are encouraging, since show optimized network computed our method, could reduce total commuting by 23%, represents reduction carbon hundreds tons per day at scale studied use case region around Toulouse.
